8mm/Super8 Film Imaging Service Description If you
also have 16mm film, place a separate order
for those services
here.
Flicker-Free
Frame by Frame Capture In this service offering, we digitally image
each individual frame on your Super8 or 8mm film with a
high-speed camera. Frame by frame
capture ensures flicker-free video.
For
example, a 3-inch (50 ft.) Super8 reel
contains about 3,800 to 4,000 individual pictures, on
average.
Our flicker-free method is more complex and
time consuming than the traditional
projection method. Before capturing your film, we clean
it to ensure dirt, mold, mildew, nicotine
and decades of other contaminants
are not evident in your final movie.
Cleaning the film also protects our investment in our
commercial hardware.
What is worth doing is worth doing
well. We are interested in
producing a DVD asset for you that
will last for generations to come.
All film is processed in-house.

Best In Class.
Natural Video Speed Once your film is imaged, we
then use special
software to assemble those individual
digital pictures
into a motion picture.
A video editor
will watch you footage to determine the
appropriate playback speed. For
example, we look for people walking or
talking and create the movie so walking and
talking look natural. If you
have ever watched one of these movies where
people move around too fast, this step has
been skipped.
Our goal is to ensure your film
looks natural.
Our Light Source To protect your film, we use a bright
LED light which emits almost no heat.
While preventing heat damage, we are also
ensuring "the entire frame" is as clear as
possible by being brightly and consistently
lit with the latest generation of LED
lighting.
Splicing Generally, as archivist, our goal is to
be minimally invasive with everything we
touch. Combining reels is not in your
best interest. We do not combine
your smaller reels into a larger single reel
to make our jobs easier.
Genre-Based Music Selections
We offer an array of musical genres that we license for use with our movies.
Our music is free of copyright
restrictions. Please visit our audio
library for a partial look at more than
8,000 tracks at our fingertips.
Producing the Final Product Each of your reels will typically become their own DVD
chapter. We will attempt to place about 2 hours of video
per DVD, unless you give other instruction. This is the
equivalent of about 1800-2000 feet of 8mm film depending on the
film speed. Below, at "Choose Your Output Movie
Format", you will select
which style of DVD menu you want to appear when you place your DVD into
your player.
You can order extra copies of your new
movies on DVD for family, friends or
even for safe-keeping at $5.95 per
duplicate. We offer Free FedEx Ground
shipping when the "film image scanning portion" of your order exceeds $160.00 (applies
to US lower 48 states only).

Is it safe? Every single videotape and photo we have received to-date has made it home
safely.
We do the rest! We handle and process your materials as if they were our own. Your project receives white-glove service from the time we receive it.
We professionally pack your return shipment with premium quality materials for a safe product delivery.
For customers who would prefer to edit their
own video or add their own music (i.e.
copyrighted Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Bing
Crosby, Louis Armstrong, Disney, Top-40,
etc.), we can output your captured video to
MiniDV or to AVI format at no extra
charge. If you choose AVI, each reel will be its own AVI
file. If you choose MiniDV, each reel
will be it's own recording with a
end-of-recording marker per reel.
Return Shipping Method
How do you want us to return your original tapes and new DVDs to you?
Return Shipping

Signature Option
When we mail your project back, do you want us to request a signature delivery"? If no signature is obtained, the shipper will leave your package unattended. If you elect to obtain a signature, the driver will not leave your package unless it is signed for. It's extra security and peace of mind, if you need it.
Dual Shipment Option
Every single videotape and photo that we have received has made it home safely. However, we do offer a dual return shipment option. We will return your new DVDs back to you in their own package. We hold all of your original material here, until you let us know that you have safely received your new DVDs. At that time, we would ship your originals back to you in the second, separate shipment. This dual-shipping technique is an extra security feature for those who desire it, as it ensures recoverability should one of the packages become lost or damaged during their return trip home. Keep in mind, we only use FedEx and every single item that we've shipped out has made it home safely.
Preferred Payment Method
DVD Product Preferences If you want your video
returned in AVI format or on MiniDV tapes, these two options are not
applicable, leave the default selections.
Labeling OptionsView Product Samples If you elect the to have text printed on the face of your media, enclose a note with the desired text.
We print directly on your disc surface; we do not use printed
stick-on labels.
The master
copy is included. How Many Extra (Secondary) Copies Do You Need?
This is the total number of extra DVDs you are ordering. Cost is
$5.95 per extra DVD.
On your printed order form that we will provide, you may write special instructions for us to indicate how many copies of which specific DVD you want. We strongly suggest that you order a second copy of each master, if your goal is to preserve/archive your videos. A DVD can last 100 years, but it can also be scratched or broken at day
one. Having a "second entire set" would allow you to keep the backup set out of day-to-day reach.
